Tax Season Gets Comical

Who knew taxes could be entertaining? While an envelope from Uncle Sam usually sparks panic, the Heritage Ranch Theatre Group is leaning into the lighter side of tax season with its upcoming fall play, Love, Sex, and the IRS.

Written by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore, this lighthearted comedy follows two out-of-work New York musicians. To pinch pennies, one has spent years claiming his male roommate as his “wife” on his tax returns. When an unsuspecting IRS investigator stops by in person to check on the couple, a scramble of awkward cover-ups, fast disguise changes, and frantic excuses quickly unfolds.
